FLOVE Flower Arrangement Workshop Blooms at Espresso Studio Celebrating International Women’s Month

Discover how the FLOVE flower arrangement workshop with florist Albert Panza made International Women’s Month special at Espresso Studio. Learn floral tips, sourcing secrets from Dangwa, and the inspiring OFW story behind FLOVE.”

In a heartfelt celebration of International Women’s Month, two creative forces came together to offer more than just a simple gathering. Espresso Studio and FLOVE transformed the unique café space into a sanctuary of creativity, hosting a series of FLOVE flower arrangement workshops that blended artistry with meaningful commemoration.

Held on the second floor of Greenfield’s Tower, this collaboration turned the spotlight on the growing appreciation for floral design in the Philippines, driven by the passion and expertise of one man—Albert Panza.

The Florist Behind FLOVE: Albert Panza’s Journey

To understand the beauty of the FLOVE flower arrangement workshop, one must first understand the hands behind the petals. Albert Panza began his floral career in 2017 in the UAE. Dubai to be exact, working as an OFW. Innately creative and just in his early 20s, Albert found that his natural eye for aesthetics and knowledge of putting pieces together made floristry come naturally.

Upon returning to the Philippines, Albert faced a common reality: being a florist here doesn’t always guarantee a stable income. He pivoted to working in call centers as a BPO agent while simultaneously balancing college life. Yet, the creative pull of floristry never faded.

“I took on florist chores on the side,” Albert shares. Eventually, he became a full-time employee and executive assistant for a florist business. During this time, he honed his skills in events, considering himself a “corporate florist.” But amidst this corporate hustle, FLOVE was born—not as a side project, but as Albert’s personal baby. It was his own brand, separate from the one he worked for, built on the satisfaction he felt when teaching and instructing students who shared his passion.

From Tiktok Reels to a Full House at Espresso Studio

Starting a business is rarely immediate. For Albert, it began with consistent effort—messaging venues and engaging with audiences on TikTok. He posted reels showcasing his flower arrangement creations, offering helpful visuals and tips that stood out to viewers. His audience noticed his unique style and began messaging him, asking if he offered workshops to support their own recreations.

The breakthrough came after Valentine’s Day 2026, when Albert posted a carousel of photos titled “The artist and his creations.” The post trended, and inquiries poured in. FLOVE in the Philippines officially took off.

Securing the venue, however, took patience. “The response wasn’t entirely immediate,” Albert recalls. But luck was on his side when Espresso Studio, owned by Mr. Jhonnel Nonoy Pahila, responded enthusiastically. Mr. Pahila was incredibly supportive, even offering freebies from the café for workshop attendees. The venue quickly became the perfect location to host the first FLOVE flower arrangement workshop, which took place two weeks before March 28, 2026, in celebration of International Women’s Month.

Why enthusiasts Are Flocking to FLOVE’s Flower Arrangement Workshop

The demand for the FLOVE flower arrangement workshop isn’t just about learning to put flowers in a vase. Students/enthusiasts are drawn to the technicalities and skill Albert honed over nine years of experience. They find his art visually unique compared to common arrangements, and the adulation from his students fuels his inspiration to continue.

For Albert, being a florist isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s about logistics. He sources his raw materials primarily from Dangwa in Sta. Cruz/Sampaloc, Manila. For larger events, he sometimes orders abroad or pre-orders from Dangwa. “It’s the one place where you’ll be surprised to find flowers you thought you could only find abroad,” he says.

He notes the difference between sourcing abroad versus in the Philippines: “Abroad, you don’t have to find the materials; they find you. Here, it’s a combination of patience and researching online. Everything is accessible if you know where to find it.”

Inside the Creative Process of Albert Panza

During the workshops at Espresso Studio, Albert demystifies the creative process for his students. Sometimes, the flow comes naturally; other times, he doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel. He uses “pegs” from Instagram or recreates inspirations from his surroundings.

When clients have specific visions, Albert leverages his years of experience to suggest flower combinations and colors that work harmoniously.

Budget-Friendly Floristry Tips from FLOVE

For those attending the flower arrangement workshop worried about budget, Albert advises sticking to locally sourced flowers.

  • Support Local: Flowers from Benguet are accessible, reasonably cheap, and high-quality.
  • Help Farmers: Using local blooms also supports Filipino farmers.

Expert Florist Tips: Keeping Flowers Fresh

Albert shares that maintaining freshness is key to a beautiful arrangement. His top tips include:

  1. Bleach and Water: Add a few drops of bleach to clean water to keep raw materials fresh overnight.
  2. The Diagonal Cut: Always cut stems diagonally with a sharp slicer. This simple trick can help the arrangement last up to two weeks.
